Pomelo e Gelato: A Summer Trio Inspired by Cream, Citrus, and Slow Mornings
Share
Some summers stay with us not because of what we did, but because of how they felt.
The warmth of a kitchen just after sunrise.
A spoon dipping into something cold and sweet.
The brightness of citrus on the tongue.
Pomelo e Gelato was born from those moments. The quiet, sensory ones that ask us to slow down and savor.
This Italian summer wall art trio is our love letter to Mediterranean living: playful, indulgent, and intentionally unhurried.

A Note from the Studio: I designed Pomelo e Gelato during a season when I felt a deep need to slow down. I found myself fascinated by the simple, visual tension of a morning ritual: the way creaminess and acidity find balance. This collection is my personal attempt to bottle that stillness.
The story behind Pomelo e Gelato
When I began sketching this series, I was obsessed with tactile contrast. I spent hours refining the textures because I wanted you to almost feel the cold, whipped peak of the gelato against the beaded juice of the pomelo. To me, that isn't just a food pairing—it’s the visual definition of a perfect summer morning.
Gelato is soft, creamy, and comforting.
Pomelo is bright, juicy, and alive with acidity.
Together, they create balance. The same balance we often look for in everyday life. Rest and energy. Stillness and joy. Indulgence and lightness.
Rather than illustrating a place, Pomelo e Gelato explores a feeling. It sits at the intersection of tactile food inspired wall art and emotional design — art that doesn’t decorate, but changes how a room feels.
A trio, three moods of summer
Although united by the same palette and textures, each artwork offers a distinct expression of summer.
One print leans playful and graphic — bold, modern, and joyful.
One feels romantic and intimate, inspired by slow mornings and affection.
One is lively and iconic, focused on texture, balance, and presence.
This makes the collection ideal for anyone looking for summer art prints that work together or stand beautifully on their own.
- The playful energy lives in A Scoop, A Kiss, a modern, graphic piece perfect for kitchens and creative spaces.
- The romantic tone appears in Buongiorno, Amore, inspired by Italian mornings and quiet rituals.
- The lively, iconic presence is embodied in Pompelmo e Gelato, the signature artwork of the trio, balancing creamy texture with bright citrus simplicity.
Together, they form a cohesive set of Italian summer art prints for kitchens and dining rooms, without feeling repetitive.
For those seeking to capture the full narrative of the season in a single glance, we’ve curated the Petite Gallery—a pre-styled 12x16 kitchen gallery wall set, designed to bring the complete rhythm of an Italian summer to your kitchen or breakfast nook.
Designed for lived-in spaces
Pomelo e Gelato was created with real interiors in mind.
I chose this specific 250 gsm archival matte paper because it has a natural, off-white warmth. I didn't want a stark, clinical white; I wanted the paper to feel like an old Italian postcard that has sat in the sun.
These prints feel especially at home as:
-
modern mediterranean kitchen decor
-
dining room accents
-
breakfast nook focal points
-
playful additions to living spaces
The palette is vibrant without being loud. Mediterranean without cliché.
Each piece brings warmth, color, and ease — the qualities we often associate with Mediterranean wall decor, but with a contemporary, art-forward lens.
Printed on museum-quality matte paper, the collection is designed to last far beyond summer.
Why food-inspired art feels so personal
Food is ritual.
Food is memory.
Food is often where joy quietly lives.
That’s why food inspired art prints for dining rooms and kitchens resonate so deeply. They connect to everyday habits — shared meals, morning coffee, moments of pause — making them uniquely intimate.
With Pomelo e Gelato, the intention was to create playful modern wall art for home, without novelty or excess. Just atmosphere. Just feeling.
